BeckyBee's Stitching Hive 2010-04-11:
Link: Stitch-in weekend!! I had a very quiet and relaxing weekend at home with my stitching :) Oh how I enjoyed it :) It's nice sometimes just to get to do something you enjoy without interruptions (well, other than all the obvious interruptions) I stitched and finished 4 pieces including the Memo Board :) First up we have this adorable pin pillow using BC's Redwing Blackbird design. I have stitched this design 3 times now :) It's SUPER cute and fast :)

Designer: Bent Creek Design Size: 2.42 x 3.14 Fabric: 28ct. Taupe Mocha-Hand-Dyed by BeckySC Fibers: DMC Date Started: 4-10-2010 Date Finished: 4-10-2010
And the next piece is a pin pillow using Primitive Betty's freebie, Tulip Time. I LOVE how this one turned out. I stitched my tulip a little different with DMC 115. I coffee stained it after stitching and I absolutely love it :) I went back and added the large safety pin. I still need to "rust" it(safety pin) up a bit :)

Design:Tulip Time Designer: Primitive Betty Fibers: DMC Fabric: unknown scrap-coffee stained after stitching Date Started:4-11-2010 Date Finished: 4-11-2010
And the last one is a freebie from Aliolka. I started this one last night after finishing up the memo board and finished it up early this morning :) I finished this one as a needle minder. I love how this one came out as well. It is magnetic on both sides so it can keep your needle on the stitched side and it can adhere to a magnetic stitching board if you like. TOO CUTE!!!

Designer: Aliolka Fibers: DMC Fabric: 32ct. Lambswool Date Started: 4-10-2010 Date Finished: 4-11-2010

Rachel-The needle minder is not made from a jar lid-it's a magnetic sheet that I cut out :) My dad got the magnetic sheet for me from his company-which has since gone out of business.
Paula-REALLY simple...I used a magnetic sheet that my dad got for me from his company (it has since gone out of business) and a circle cutter I purchased MANY years ago and I just cut the magnetic piece to the size I needed and then I finished it as you would a pinkeep finish-I added a VERY thin layer of batting to the magnetic piece I cut out and centered my cross stitch on it. Then I did a gathering stitch around my stitched piece and gathered it around the magnet and laced the back when I was finished-I did the same with another piece of magnetic sheet and added a piece of cotton print fabric to the back the same way I did the front :) I glued the two pieces together and added a trim :) Easy Peasy :)
Thank you so much for visiting with me :) Thank you for your ever so kind comments and emails :) I appreciate them so very much :) Please do come again :) hugs and love from SC, BeckySC :)
